You just want to feel like the strong version of yourself again.

You’re used to feeling capable and successful, but lately you’re just feeling stuck.

Something - maybe you’re not even sure what exactly - has created a disconnect from your sense of confidence or purpose. You often feel preoccupied with anxiety and worried about what people think, which is holding you back from pursuing what’s most important to you - whether it’s at work, in relationships, or both. And to be honest, things are starting to suffer in some of the most important areas of your life.

Most days you find that the weight of worry and obligations is getting in the way of having fun, finding meaning, or just being able to relax - and as a result, you’ve lost interest in things you once enjoyed that made you feel like yourself. Your motivation is down and sleep is hard to come by, which makes it really hard to figure out what to do next.

You know you can’t keep living like this but you’re not sure how to change things. You just know that you need help finding solutions.

Therapy can be straightforward and solution focused.

In therapy we can make sense of your emotions and what to do with them, find real ways to reduce stress and anxiety, and resolve what’s causing you to feel the way you do. Together we’ll identify strategies to cope that put you back in control, methods to quiet your mind so that you can think clearly and problem solve, and solutions that get you to your goals.

You don’t have to be overly emotional in therapy, and mental health does not have to be complicated. Therapy can help you find solutions that work to resolve what's feeling stuck so that you can move forward. Knowing what to do next and taking action towards your goals reduces anxiety, increases confidence, and reconnects you to your own strength.

Sometimes it’s just hard to do this alone. Having someone to partner with you can help.

My approach is practical, focusing on actionable strategies that really create change in your life.

At the same time, this is a safe place to unpack what’s feeling too heavy to keep carrying alone. There’s no judgment while you work through emotions or challenges, no matter what they are. Your privacy is a priority and what you share here stays confidential.

Frequently asked questions

  • We’ll start by looking at what your goals are and what’s getting in the way. I get to know you so that I have ideas and insight about which approaches will work best for your personality, needs, and life. We’ll put our heads together to create an individualized treatment plan that specifies what we’re working towards, how we’ll get there, and how much time we expect it to take. The plan we create and the work we do are designed to translate into tangible outcomes in work, relationships, and personal growth.

  • When we talk about feelings or past experiences in therapy, it’s so that we can use those things as information to solve problems. Understanding what makes you tick helps us identify which strategies and solutions are likely to work best for you. By looking at these things (but not getting stuck in them), we can identify what your emotions and experiences tell us about your needs moving forward.

  • I usually recommend weekly meetings for our first 4-6 sessions because that allows us to build a relationship, establish a comfort level, and create momentum for our work together. Beyond that, we can develop a schedule that works around your life and goals. Many of my clients have demanding jobs or unpredictable schedules, so I offer flexibility in appointment times, as well as the option to meet virtually when it’s more convenient for you.

If your schedule makes it hard to attend ongoing therapy regularly, a short-term EMDR Intensive can help you accomplish months of therapy in just 2-3 days.

  • I use the same evidence based and solution focused approaches with all of my clients, but I find that men and women can be different in the way they receive information. When working with men, I focus on building trust when there’s skepticism, creating an action-oriented plan together, and collaborating to problem-solve. As an analytical thinker who loves to solve problems myself, I enjoy working this way - it makes the work of therapy a lot of fun because things tend to get better quickly as you take action on what we do in our sessions.
